Can you guess what this is? It’s the most biggest sacred rope in Japan, called the big shimenawa. Every year in Miyajidake Shrine, we replace this shimenawa into a new one. This huge shimenawa will be twisted together at December 17th by a great number of people, spending about 2hours.
As a famous annual event in Japan, Shichi-go-san(Seven-Five-Three Festival) is held in November. 3 and 7year old girls, 3 and 5 year old boys wear Kimono to the Shrine. They celebrate and thank the healthy growth with their family. Many sweet children with Kimono come to our Shrine to worship too.
